Watching a show called “World business Satellite ワールドビジネスサテライト” the other night and it mentioned a “One coin pizza” chain restaurant in Shibuya! Cona Standing Pizzeria offers a good pizza for “one coin.” That is correct, A pizza for 500 yen in exactly where you might expect to want such a thing, but expect not to find it;Shibuya. I ran down to check it out, and it was pretty good.
Cona is a stylish, yet casual wine bar / pizzeria featuring 80 varieties of wine; all available for about 2500 yen from their glass cellar. If you are having trouble deciding you can ask the staff for a recommendation; they are quite helpful and even a bit knowledgeable on the topic.
As a non-drinker, I am far more interested in the selection of pizzas, and they do not disappoint. They offer thin-crust with a variety of styles and toppings to choose from, including garlic and chorizo, bacon and asparagus, prosciutto and soft-boiled eggs. There are easily 30 types of pizza on the menu for 500 yen each. Despite the low price tag, you can try a variety of surprisingly gourmet sounding titles.
The wine bar/pizzeria itself is quite small, and as mentioned earlier is standing room only. Drinks are half price during happy hour (2pm – 6pm). There is no charge before 6pm, but after its Y300.
